War of the Dead: A Not So Civil War
Staff Sergeant Jackson Cross
Grizzled Vietnam War Vet
Staff Sergeant Jackson Cross grew up in rural Oklahoma before enlisting in the US Army to fight in the Vietnam War in the early 70s. After serving two tours in the infantry, he transferred to train as a helicopter pilot, but the war ended before got back out into the field. After the end of the war, he stayed in the Army for a few more years, then went to college on the GI bill. He re-enlisted in the National Guard after finishing his degree, and continued flying helicopters for a few more years, and eventually moved to an administrative desk job. He just retired, and is now planning on using his pension to pay for stays on cruise ships, rather than a retirement home (it’s actually cheaper, look it up). He never married or had kids (that he knows of, other than the possibility of that one time over in ‘Nam), so he’s looking forward to getting away from things and retiring in peace, away from the damn communists.
